The cure for the evil
Sometimes the cure for any pain is a warm bath, solitude and a good book.

Top Ten Tuesday!
As always, today’s Top Ten Tuesday comes courtesy of Broke and Bookish.
And without further adieu, books I’d love to see as movies! Please note that these are the lovely books that this insane mind loves so the views expressed in this list are entirely my own and I am proud of each of them 🙂 I also decided to go with seven instead of ten because it’s my favorite number!
- Pretty much anything by Susanna Kearsley, below is a good example! Just imagine Russian costumes!

- Dresden Files! Again and actually successful this time!

- Mercy Thompson series, my new favorited seriesÂ

- I desperately love anything having even remotely to do with reincarnation and though I don’t love everything Tracy Chevalier has ever written, The Virgin Blue remains one of my favorite books ever.

- People of the Book would make a fantastic one as well

- Peony in Love remains my favorite Lisa See novel, it’s probably a bit too ethnic for a lot of people but it had just enough romance, magic and drama to suck me in.

- Oh I read this one years ago but I LOVED IT. To my mind that grew up on Sherlock Holmes, a period thriller with a scientifically minded detective was and is irresistable.

- BONUS!!! This is a book I think would make a fantastic board game. I was just at our local game store “(Games of Berkeley shoutout!) and thought that it would fit insanely well in the genre.

This post is coming to yall from my very new laptop!
Well ok, it’s new to me. My lovely fiance got himself a new toy a few weeks ago and I guess after hearing me complain about the difficulty of doing stuff on my tablet. Yes, I was blogging on my little bitchy tablet. It took me quite some time to realize that the issues I have been having with computing has been due to the fact that my little tablet just isn’t up for the task of gaming, socializing, spreadsheeting, blogging and Internet searching. I wanted to be able to have a computer that I could do all those things on and well, frankly, to feel the keys under my fingers again. And let me tell you, blogging on a tablet is hard. Adding in links, images, linking, etc, it’s so hard. And now I can. So hopefully I will be coming to you way more often. 🙂

Why I blog
Today I read an entry on a blog that I followed (not any longer). This particular blogger was having a bit of a rant about circumcision, in itself a rather controversial issue. Everyone is entitled to their opinions so I read on to see what his points were. He presented all sides of the argument which was a OK with me until it devolved into a slew of antisemitic phrases. In several lines he insulted the Talmud and the Torah and our traditions and crowned it with “Jews control America.” I won’t bother giving him space on the web but let it suffice to say that I didn’t stand for this kind of bigotry and will continue not to be. Whatever your personal opinion on any practice is, do not bring ethnicity into it. You are insulting a people and perpetuating a stereotype. This is why my blog exists, to remind people that we are more than caricatures in someone’s rant. Jews have given the world one of its most famous pieces of writing and we are not demons or puppet masters. I won’t stand for racism and bigotry in my community. Instead I will continue to educate and illuminate.

Where I am Wednesday!
Posted late such is my life 🙂
Just finished – leave it to me to read a book and not realize that it’s a veiled biography of Laura Bush:
Currently entertained by – though good God, Emma is a spoiled twit:
Next up – I swear it’s coming:
And in not reviewing but about to read it for fun and by God her covers are gorgeous:
Current mood: busy and contemplative.
