As a former Soviet national myself, I found this an incredibly interesting read in light of what happened this Tuesday night. I’m of a somewhat younger generation and not yet a parent but his concerns and feelings nevertheless resonate in my mind as a Ukrainian Jew who is also a naturalized citizen-voting since 2004. Some of my family members are exactly of the pro-Republican against Soviet bloc mentality though they have never actually registered to vote in US. I do my best to vote with what my consciousness will allow.
